The Len Price 3, Stone Cat Blues and Komatone + Headphoned and The Chucklevision Sound System
Back at the Attik again for a real summer treat with The Len Price 3 headlining. The Len Price 3 are real Snake Drive faves and this is their second time playing at the club, which along with The Surgens (who will be back again in October) make them our favourite out of town band.
But, we're gettting ahead of ourselves here. The Len Price 3 finished the night, but Headphoned kicked it off. The pint sized DJs with the mostess threw up their usual mix of the latest sounds and rocking classics from the days of yore.
Meanwhile upstairs Snake Drive new boys, Komatone, were gearing up for a scallytastic showcase of contemporary northern rock and roll. It was a night of catchy songs with really strong hooks and Komatone kicked it off with aplomb. Everybody clap your hands now!
Next up came Stone Cat Blues with their rifftastic blue rock. They get better every time and are in real danger of reawakening the world's appetite for endless boogie. What Stone Cat Blues really proved this time however is that they are not just an excellent boogie-fried guitar band. They are also top-notch songwriters who get the crowd singing along every time.
Finally up walked the magnificent Len Price 3. We promise a feast of RnB influenced live music at ever Snake Drive, but the Len Price 3 really excelled themselves this time. Tight as a gnats chuff and every track a sure fire hit. The crowd punched the air, the ambitious ones even started twisting. Make sure you catch them next time - you'll be humming the songs for weeks.
So we all crashed down stairs for a short set from the Chucklevision Sound System. Pretty soon the Attik was overrun with electronica freaks and fresh from Summer Sundae. A man with thirty speak and spells gave it some upstairs and another Snake Drive came to a tired and emotional close.
Don't worry folks - we'll be back!
