Snake Drive

murdering the blues

Snake Drive XIX: Friday 31st March 2006

Dogbreath, DeSade, The Forty Fours and a bit of Chucklevision

A triumphant return for Snake Drive. Despite a layoff of a couple of months the night came storming back with a vengence.

Opening up for the home side were The Forty Fours. Just two guys but what a noise they make. Pedals to the metal all over the place. Drums coming out of their ears. Artful feedback ripping through the place like some Velvet Underground album track. Simply astonishing that all of this could be done in the name of the blues.

Next up came the might De Sade. If you like classic rock these are your guys. We rocked. We rolled. We punched the air. We marvelled at some of the attractive camp followers that they brought along with them. A must for all libertines.

Finally the ear splitting phantasmogoria of Dogbreath. Returning to Snake Drive for their second time the Swedish boys didn't disappoint. Stiff arse funking and no nonsense blues rock were fed through the blender into a Beefheart stew. Now signed to a proper record label these Swedes are set for world domination. If only they didn't live 50 days dog sled ride from civilisation.

Rock on Snake Drive!
