Tom Manzi and the Icebreakers, Pig Iron Joe and The Vapours + Headphoned and a Chucklebrother.
Another fantastic night down at the old Attik. Kicking off downstairs Headphoned get spinning as a last minute addition to the bill. The latest sounds from the frontline of garage rock and roll as always.
Meanwhile upstairs The Vapours kicked off another Snake Drive live room and proved once again how uncannally good we are at finding the best in new and up and comming bands.
And of course this was the night that the legend that was Pig Iron Joe finally cashed in his chips. Pig Iron Joe played at the first Snake Drive, and then they played at seven subsequent Snake Drive's - if anyone has a claim to be the Snake Drive house band it must be them. But, this was their last gig and they did themselves proud. I know it's only rock and roll but I like it...
Finally up stepped Tom Manzi and the Icebreakers. Has Tom Waits entered the room? Is Dr John in the house? Surely this leftfield gumbo can't all be eminating from the double-bass player who is rolling his eyes and looning around. Sure enough it seems to be.
Downstairs a lone Chucklebrother took us through the night...
