The Black Diamond Heavies, The Dirty Backbeats, De Sade and Chucklevision.
A pretty near capacity crowd at the Musician for this eye-poppingly brilliant Snake Drive line-up. Some new boys, Leicester's greatest and a bunch of American's over for the ride of their lives. Oh and of course the ever dependable Chucklevision Sound System laying down the grooves for the waiting crowds.
First up come De Sade. Swaggering bluesy cock rock they have us punching the air and most likely will have us holding up lighters and swaying by the fourth album. Not for now though - at the moment it is an uncomplicated night of rock and bloody roll.
Next up are the Backbeats. What can we say about these guys that hasn't been said before. Simply and unquestionably the best band in Leicester - they are fit to hold their heads up with the very best in the world (that is all the other bands that have headlined Snake Drive!). Fantastic - they also get a mention on the Black Diamond Heavies website as one of the best bands they've seen in the UK.
Finally came the Black Diamond Heavies. Described by more than one person as the quitescential Snake Drive band. Driving heavy blues of the kind that you don't often get the chance to see on this side of the Atlantic. But, folks they turned the Musician into their very own juke joint and rocked us all the way home. Simply brilliant!
